We’re excited to share that Central National Bank’s Carolyn Haferkamp was recently announced as one of four finalists for the 2022 ATHENA Leadership Award. The award, which has been presented locally since 2018, celebrates “women who achieve excellence in their professions, serve the community in a meaningful way, and help other women reach their full potential.”
Carolyn, who serves as President & Chief Lending Officer at Central National Bank, joins three other finalists: Diedra Emerson (City of Waco), Becky Kramm (L3Harris Technologies), and Tyrha M. Lindsey-Warren (Baylor University). The award recipient will be revealed later this year at the Leading Waco Women Serving Summit, which is hosted by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce.
“I am honored to be included among such an impressive group of leaders – from various disciplines and industries,” said Haferkamp. “And, I am excited to get to know them personally, discuss ideas with them, and weave them into my life. I am humbled by the nomination itself and grateful to spend every day in an organization that believes in leadership, community, mutual support and respect, and being the very best we can be.”
Over the course of her 25-year career at Central National Bank, Carolyn has worn many hats. She started in 1999 as a credit analyst and became a loan officer in 2002. In addition to her lending responsibilities, Carolyn presided as the bank’s Chief Operations Officer from 2006 until 2019, when she was then appointed to her current role, Chief Lending Officer.
Outside of her work at Central National Bank, Carolyn is actively involved in the community. She currently serves on the executive committee of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, and she is also involved with River Valley Intermediate PTA, Waco Civic Theatre, Waco Founder Lions Club, and Junior League of Waco.
Congratulations, Carolyn, on this well-deserved honor.
